thoughts from a Christ follower

He is still Alive

This past weekend many people stopped to celebrate Easter, the day that we remember the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  People who usually won’t go to church, did and for some their lives were forever changed as they responded to the message of Jesus’s death, burial, and resurrection.  Easter allows us to share the greatest story ever told, It’s incredibly unbelievable, yet entirely true.  It was prophesied hundreds of years before it occurred, is supported by historical facts, and is substantiated by eye witness accounts.

It is the story of a God who loved the people that he created so much that He gave His own Son to die for their sins, he was buried, and then raised for their justification.  (Romans 4:25)   When he died all hope seemed lost, but then when he arose all hope was restored.  1Peter 1:3-7

However, as Easter passes and the busyness of our schedules resume, we often seem to forget that He is still alive.  We go back to life and its disappointments and find ourselves questioning God’s wisdom over our circumstances and his seeming lack of understanding when He doesn’t work things out the way that we think He should.  But remembering that He is not dead, but is indeed alive will fuel our hopes and build our trust in His care.  He overcame our biggest opponents – sin and death and reconciled us to Himself.  Romans 5:10,11 and 8:32 encourage us that if God did this for us, then we can be sure that He is still actively engaged in our lives and is working out His plans for us.  He has and will continue to provide.  We must simply remember that sometimes pain is part of the process and oft times what seem to be unsolvable problems are really opportunities to see miracles.

Everyday, should be a day that we celebrate that Jesus is alive!!! Let’s celebrate that fact more than just at Easter.  Let’s live like we believe it every day.   May our lives be a living testimony to others, that He is still alive.

Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.  Hebrews 7:25 ESV
