It is ALL God’s

“This is my life”.  We have all heard it and have probably said it.

But as we consider our lives and all of our stuff we must ask, Whose is it anyway?  Whatever we have, the money, stuff, time, our very lives…does any of it really belong to us?  The answer to these questions will determine how we live and spend that life.  I am trying to take a biblical perspective… it teaches us that life is God’s.  After all without Him we wouldn’t even exist, let alone have the capacity to give.  He is the source from which all of life flows – He has created us for His purpose and given us eternal life to fulfill His eternal plans.    Here are five Biblical reasons that teach us that it is all His:

  1. He is the Creator – He made us.  Genesis 1:27… we are not are own, but have been created by God and for God.
  2. He made us for His purposes.  Colossians 1:16
  3. He redeemed us from sin.  1 Corinthians 6:19,20
  4. He gave us eternal life.  John 3:16
  5. He provides for us daily giving us all we need.  Psalm 100:4,5

After considering these things I want to use my life and all that God has given me for Him.  This might seem noble, but as we give to God we must remember that we are really just giving back what He has given — it is all His anyway.

In 1 Chronicles 29:10-17 we see the proper response to offering it all back to God – I am praying that this is my prayer as I give my life to Him for His purposes.   Yours, O LORD is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty.  Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O LORD and this is your kingdom.  We adore you as the one who is over all things.    1Chronicles 29:14
