Just Do It

Just Do It

1Chronicles 28:20

Then David continued, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of the Lord is finished correctly.  1Chronicles 28:20

Follow through!  Many times we get stuck just in thought mode or just talking about it, sometimes we give up after starting…God is calling us to step up, to be strong and courageous and do it!

Faith Principle – When God has something for us to do He is right there with us giving us all we need to complete it.

Two main reasons we give up instead of just doing it:

FEAR & Discouragement

Don’t be afraid or discouraged…”

4 causes for fear and discouragement…These two giants often invade our lives when:

1.      We feel alone – remember we are not… the LORD God, my God, is with you”

2.      When we think God has failed us or given up on us – remember he has not…He will not fail you or forsake you

3.      We don’t think we have all that we needHe will see to it

4.      When we don’t think that we can do it – without him we cannot, with him we can do whatever he has called us to.

So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord.  Psalm 31:24

  • Our view of God has everything to do with our view of life…We are either worshipful or woeful, wow God or woe is me.

Key actions to follow through and just do it: 1Chronicles 28:9,10

  1.  Know and or acknowledge God
    1. Experiential knowledge
    2. “know God intimately” NLT
    3. Acknowledge God in everything each step of the way…Proverbs 3:5,6

 2.  Devote yourself completely to himvs9

  • “wholehearted devotion”  NIV
  • “serve him with a loyal heart” NKJV
  • “serve him with your whole heart” NLT

 3.  Yield or surrender your mind – willing mind…this is a mindset that always says yes to God / whatever, whenever, wherever, or however.  Vs 9, Proverbs 3:5

4. Fear God – respect and have reverence for who He is…We either have a healthy fear of God or an unhealthy fear of life.  Vs 10, 29:10-18

Listen to and learn from God’s Word, Look for God’s will, and wholeheartedly live in accordance to God’s ways.
