thoughts from a Christ follower

God is in it!

Sometimes it seems like life is a really tough climb and we find ourselves in a really hard spot.  When those times come – Read James 1:2-6  – Count it all joy when troubles and trials come?  Say what, God is working in this?

Did you ever feel like there is no way that God could be in this?  Where did this situation come from and why right now?  How in the world did I get here, and how am I going to get out?  I have been there and done that, and still do sometimes.  However I have learned that God is bigger than life and He always knows what He is doing, even when it doesn’t seem that way to me.  Here is a great quote along those lines in a book I am currently reading (In A Pit With A Lion On A Snowy Day): “God is in the business of strategically positioning us in the right place at the right time. But the right place often seems like the wrong place, and the right time often seems like the wrong time.” Batterson

It is clear that God often works in ways that we don’t understand, after all He told us, “my ways are higher than your ways”.  Our lack of understanding doesn’t mean that God has left us to ourselves and is no longer watching and working in our lives.  It simply means that we don’t understand, but God sees the whole and is working all things together for our good and His glory.  We must struggle to refocus, and look for opportunities in the midst of what seem to be our greatest obstacles.  We must make a conscious choice to stop staring into the teeth of our problems and start looking into the heart of God.  He has promised to never leave us alone and He will complete the work He has started in us.  We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works.
